The Uludag Automotive Trade Exporters’ Association (OIB) was formed in 1991 under the title of Uludag Vehicle and Auxiliary Business Exporters’ Affiliation (UTAYSIB) with 246 members and exports of $163 million under the umbrella of the Uludag Exporters’ Affiliation. As of 2007, overcapacity within the international automotive trade is estimated at 20 million models, which is approximately one-third of world annual manufacturing or the productive capability of the western European automakers.
